Problem: Needed a simple, affordable and functional payment solution that made it easier to shop for stone products online

The Swedish company Stenbolaget started up in 2005 and is today the market leader in the sale of paving stones, retaining walls, natural stone and other stone products to both companies and private individuals. Over 65,000 satisfied customers have Stenbolaget as their loyal supplier, whether they need to lay a new stone floor, make a new driveway, or freshen up the patio. 

More and more online orders 

Fabian Lindin, e-commerce manager at Stenbolaget, says that buying and selling stone products has traditionally taken place face to face, but that more and more people are now choosing to trade online. He states that: 

“In the past it was the case that customers would come to one of our stores to see and feel the product, but today we see that more and more people are buying stone online. From the pandemic year 2020 until today, we have experienced an increase of as much as 600 percent. We have put a lot of emphasis on having attractive texts and images on our websites, which appeal to completely new target groups across the country.” 

With large (and heavy) orders with high values, it goes without saying that Stenbolaget depends on a functional website and not least, a flexible payment solution to handle the orders that come in online. They now have this with Nets Easy.

“The payment solution we used previously was very expensive. In addition, we felt that we had little control, with few options for customization. We therefore chose to switch to Nets Easy, which is both cheaper and gives us a full overview of all transactions. At the same time, we can have the solution adapted to our needs. It is simply better and more flexible,” says Fabian. 

Multiple payment methods 

With Nets Easy, Stenbolaget can take payment by card, invoice and partial payment. The payment solution also has support for the Swedish payment app Swish, which the company plans to offer its customers over time. 

“We are very satisfied with all the different payment methods Nets Easy offers. Now, among other things, we can send out company invoices, something we didn’t have the option to do before. Most of our customers still choose to pay by card, but since we receive several large orders, we know that our customers also appreciate being able to split the payment,” says Fabian. 

Nets also offers local support in Sweden, which is very important for Stenbolaget. 

“One of the biggest advantages of Nets Easy is that it is easier to get in touch if something were to happen. With other companies, you often have to go through contact point 1, contact point 2, contact point 3 and so on before you get an answer to your question. At Nets, however, we have one dedicated person who is always ready to help us,” explains Fabian.

Experiencing growth despite tougher times 

The last couple of years have been tough for many players in the stone industry, with a troubled world market and tighter economic times. However, Stenbolaget has experienced growth, largely thanks to the investment in its websites. 

“Our work with our websites and the implementation of Nets Easy has helped to increase our conversion rate. The turnover of many of our competitors has fallen, while we, on the other hand, are experiencing growth. It’s a lot of fun!” says Fabian, and he concludes: 

“The actual implementation of Nets Easy was very simple, and it could be integrated with our online store solution without any problems. Nets Easy also has several smart plug-ins that we make good use of. I can certainly recommend the payment solution Nets Easy to others who run an online store. It is simple, flexible and very user-friendly.”
