This is Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a contactless payment technology for Apple devices. It was designed to move consumers away from physical wallets into a world where your debit and credit cards are on your iPhone or Apple Watch, allowing you to pay using your eligible Apple device instead of a card.

How does it work online?

The Apple Pay button shows up on your website when a customer uses Safari, Edge, Chrome and Firefox web browser on their eligible Apple Devices. When your customers select the Apple Pay button, they confirm the order and authorize the payment on a payment sheet.

By providing the customer with the necessary information to complete the payment, the payment sheet speeds up the checkout process. The user’s name, address, shipping details, and email address can all be seen on payment sheets. This payment sheet can be customized to incorporate the user information and payment details you require for your Apple Pay integration. For additional information on the compatibility of Apple Pay, go to our tech site

Step by step:

1. A customer taps or clicks on your website’s Apple Pay button

2. The iOS device or web browser displays a payment sheet to the payer

3. A different shipping address and payment option are available to the payer.

4. The payment is approved by the payer.

How do you best prepare for Apple Pay in your Webshop?

There are several ways you can prepare your Webshop for an additional payment method, and we have compiled a checklist here.

Apple Pay – now and for the future

Apple Pay unlocks 500 million users and potential shoppers. Besides this, an Apple Pay transaction is extremely easy. In essence, we would say the following:

  • Mobile friendliness – optimized for iOS users
  • Offline or online – let the consumer pay the same way
  • Speed is of essence – to complete an online transaction via Apple Pay means that you never leave the browser, limiting the number of steps necessary to complete an Apple Pay transaction
  • International and national reach – check this link to see which issuers are providing Apple Pay

The simpler, the better – and at Nets Easy, we are doing our best to provide you with modern payment services that are impactful for your sales and convenient for your customers! And we don’t stop there! We pay attention to what makes the consumer experience more frictionless, while enabling merchants to hustle less – and sell more.
