"As always, Nets delivers high and up-to-date professional quality on its events! It is incredibly important for us to gain insight into new solutions, as well as what customers and end users think about payment solutions in the larger context. We really appreciate how Nets took care of us in Copenhagen."

Our first partner event of 2023

To say that our relationship with our partners is important is indeed an understatement. We don’t just cooperate with them in order to bring our e-commerce solution to merchants more widely or even more quickly. We seek the togetherness with the partner community in order to understand: the best way to educate merchants about online shopping trends; how to improve the checkout experience; and which product features are desired by merchants and online consumers. It’s our humble way to keep our fingers on the pulse of where the payment industry is moving, and by doing so better support our partners’ aspirations for success.

To us, partnership means cooperation, education, and teamwork, and if you’re not yet a partner with Nets, you can learn more here

Agenda

View from the top!

Our first event in 2023, held in Denmark’s Villa Copenhagen on January 19th, is one such example of how we strive to keep communication open with our partners and learn what is important to them and their merchant customers. We hosted over 100 partners, representing 60 different companies, including a few from neighbouring Norway and Sweden.

During the event, we educated our partners on a variety of topics- and they let us know what was on their minds and on the minds of their own customers.

It was a great pleasure to be able to participate in a partner event again, after a time with Covid-19, where everything has been digital, and to hear the various speakers talk about, for example, how important it is to make the payment experience as frictionless as possible,” shared Ulrik Kannegaard, CEO of Mobilepeople.

Presentation

What does the future look like?

Patrik Muller spoke to the audience about a thought-provoking topic close to all of our hearts. Which channel will dominate? Patrik revealed that both physical trade and e-commerce are currently facing challenges as consumers’ money is subject to high inflation. He stated that at the same time, the shift towards more e-commerce continues, with projections indicating that the distribution between channels may even out (50/50) by 2030. In the near future though, e-commerce offers a convenient shopping experience and the ability to easily compare prices, but the physical store still leads in popularity.

Dankort presentation

Dankort pitches in...

Esben Torpe Jørgensen, SVP, Dankort Scheme has been at the center of the payment industry for more than 10 years and has worked extensively with retail payments in Denmark in particular, but also across Europe. In collaboration with both banks, partners and the Danish retail trade, Esben has in recent years been at the forefront of Dankort – the preferred means of payment for Danes and the retail trade. In his presentation, Esben gave an insight into the business advantages of Dankort, which new measures have been launched and what is on the way.

Nets shares behavior insights...

Based on consumer surveys from our Danish eCommerce report 2021, Philip Lynggaard Meldrum, who is Head of Product Partnerships & Performance at Nets, elaborated on how Nets tries to meet what we hear consumers demand and at the same time make it easy and simple for business operators to implement in their businesses. Philip has worked within the payment industry for 7 years, with a focus on making ecommerce easier and simpler for business operators to navigate. This focus has resulted in him acquiring a very good insight and understanding of how web trading has developed and where it is going. Philip also discussed what our community has been asking for, including the small and medium sized business merchants.

...and the technical way forward

We held split sessions with e-commerce and point-of-sale focus. In these sessions, our Nets team: Anders Knudsen, Head of Product Management; Philip Lynggaard Meldrum, Head of Product Partnerships & Performance; Louise Brennum, Head of Emerging Products; and Simon Oliver Malone, Senior Lead Developer; together led Nets’ technical sessions with insight into new launches– and a road map.

It was also interesting what thoughts have been made about the Easy portal and the involvement of partners and possibly building an ‘app store’,” states Ulrik Kannegaard, CEO of Mobilepeople.

champagne reception

See you again soon!

Niel Rokkjær, CEO of IEX, one of the partners in attendance states that: We had an excellent evening at Nexi Group’s partner day in Villa Copenhagen. Some exciting presentations were held, which were both lively and thought-provoking for the eCommerce trade of the time. We learned more about how the market works. It was good to network and mingle with the various participants and Nexi Group representatives. There was business, presentations, entertainment and good food in good company.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! We absolutely enjoyed the community feeling and the idea exchange that was happening all around us.

Our next big undertaking is a multi-city tour called Next Up: The Future of Payments. The series of events will be held in all the Nordic capital cities:

  • Copenhagen: March 14 at Tivoli Hotel and Conference Center
  • Stockholm: March 16 at At Six
  • Oslo: March 21 at Doga
  • Helsinki: March 30th at Pikku-Finlandia

Stay tuned as we promise to share insights and learnings from our speakers!

Previous payment solutions have given us lots of manual work. We had to log into several portals to manage transactions, and there was much fraud. With Nets Easy none of that is an issue anymore.
